Timothy A. Smith

Tim Smith was named Executive Director on December 21, 2018 after an extensive recruitment and interview process. Tim will serve as the Fraternity's first Executive Director since 2011.

Tim Smith was previously elected International Consul (Chairman, and President) of the Tau Epsilon Phi Fraternity, Inc., on July 23, 2016 at the Grand Chapter sessions and Convention in Orlando, Florida.

Tim joined the Tau Epsilon Phi Fraternity in the Fall of 1993 when he was initiated into the Epsilon Iota Chapter at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY. Tim would graduate from RPI in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting Systems and in 1999 with a Master of Business Administration degree specializing in New Product Development.

Tim served the Epsilon Iota Alumni Association as it's Chancellor from 2000 to 2003 and remained on its board of directors in various roles until 2014, when he was elected to the position of Director Emeritus. Tim became a life member of the Epsilon Iota Alumni Association in 2025.

Tim has been active with the National Fraternity since October 2007 when he was elected as the Interim Consul at an impromptu Grand Chapter meeting in Camden, New Jersey. Since then he has served on the Grand Council as an alumnus member-at-large and as a two-time International Tribune (Secretary).

Tim served as the Fraternity Growth & Accelerator elected representative to the Governing Council of the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) from 2018 to 2022. Tim was reelected to the NIC Governing Council at the annual meeting in 2023 and 2025 as a member-at-large. He also serves on the Membership & Accountability Committee for the NIC. The NIC Governing Council is the board of directors for the NIC that sets policy and direction for its more than 60 member fraternal organizations.

Tim was awarded the Michael C.C. Lilienfeld Distinguished Alumnus award at the 2018 Grand Chapter and Convention for his many years of service to the fraternity, especially as Consul from 2016 – 2018. He was also recognized by the TEP Foundation, Inc. with a special award for service to the Foundation in 2018. Lastly, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Award for his service to the Fraternity at the 2013 Grand Chapter and Convention in Washington, DC.

Tim served on the Board of Directors of the TEP Foundation, Inc, the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of the fraternity serving as its Secretary from 2013 to 2016.

Tim was also elected to serve as the Secretary for the newly created Educational Foundation for Tau Epsilon Phi, Ltd in 2024.

Tim is also very involved with the Free & Accepted Masons having served as the District Deputy Grand Master of the Albany & Rensselaer-Schenectady Districts within the Grand Lodge of the State of New York from 2014 to 2016. Tim served on the Grand Lodge of New York committee for Leadership and Educational Services from 2015 – 2021, where he trained future Grand Lodge leadership. He was made an Emeritus member of that committee in 2021. He currently serves on the Grand Lodge of New York Committee for the Masonic Fraternity on Campus.

In his spare time Tim enjoys traveling having visited 67 countries on all seven (7) continents. Tim is an avid Formula One race fan and enjoys watching the Buffalo Bills during the fall football season. On the rare occasion he may get, he enjoys playing pub trivia with his friends and has been nicknamed "El Presidente" for his knowledge of Presidential trivia.

Tim is honored and humbled to have been named the Executive Director of ΤΕΦ. He looks forward to continuing to grow the organization and contribute to the greater inter-fraternal world.

Matthew Tursi

Matthew "Matt" Tursi joined the Tau Epsilon Phi Fraternity in Spring of 2016 at Hofstra University's Sigma Alpha Sigma Chapter. At Hofstra, Matt was a Music Business Major and earned a four-year scholarship for playing trombone.

Matt served as the Secretary of the Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association (MEISA) for two years (Fall 2017-Spring 2019). Through his major, he interned and worked in marketing for The Nassau Coliseum, KORG USA, Sony Music, and Legacy Recordings. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree for Music Business in May of 2019.

Matt has worked many different side jobs. He continues to pursue a career as an actor, owns a DJ business, is a Photographer and Legal Videographer. Since May of 2021, Matt has served in the U.S. Army with the 78th Army Band stationed out of Fort Totten, Queens and Fort Dix, NJ. There he plays trombone, assists in sound, and manages their New York City social media pages. He is currently enrolled in court reporting (stenography) school, following after his mother and his late father.

For his TEΦ Chapter, Matt served as Chancellor as well as various other positions. During his tenure as Chancellor, his Chapter was nominated for Greek Organization of the year. And in the Spring of 2019, Matt was awarded the Greek Leader of the Year award.

Ever since going to the Grand Chapter in 2018, Matt has been wanting to play a bigger role and help Tau Epsilon Phi in any way he can. He started his Alumni Association in 2019. In 2020, he was elected to serve as the Vice Consul for Undergraduate Affairs, and in 2022, elected to serve as a Director.

With enormous shoes to fill from the brothers that have served before him, he is now serving as the Director of Chapter Services since June of 2024. Thus far, he's learned from the undergraduates more than he thought and he hopes he's been able to impart some wisdom on them as well. He's looking forward to continuing work with the fraternity and is excited about where he can assist in the upcoming years.

Jonah Anderson

Jonah Anderson joined Tau Epsilon Phi in the Fall of 2017 and was initiated into the re-founded class of Epsilon Deuteron at Florida State University in the Spring of 2018.

During his time at Florida State University, he majored in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. Jonah received his Degree in December of 2021.

For his TEΦ chapter, Jonah was nominated and served as the founding Chancellor from 2018-2021 where he worked towards growing his chapter and furthering the fraternal experience in the greater Tallahassee Area. Jonah was also the 2019 Recipient of the Al Versacci Leadership Award.

Jonah has worked extensively in the Medical Field during his education and plans to continue his service to the community. Jonah was a medical assistant for a private pediatric practice. He was a medical responder for the FSU Medical Response Unit where he volunteered all four years at FSU to provide basic life support coverage to the campus and cover major sporting and extracurricular events. He was later elected to the Director of Operations for the MRU. Jonah worked for Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare as an EMT and emergency care technician in the ER and trauma department from 2018-2022.

Jonah is now a licensed paramedic in the state of Florida and Alabama. He recently completed his post graduate education of emergency medical sciences from the University of South Alabama in Mobile Alabama. Jonah is currently working towards becoming a firefighter paramedic with the final goal of becoming a critical care flight paramedic.

He was appointed to the role of Growth Consultant on July 15th, 2024 and promoted to the position of Associate Director of Growth on January 1, 2025. Jonah is looking forward to taking on a larger role and to all he will accomplish for the betterment of the fraternity.

William Gray

William "Will" Gray joined Tau Epsilon Phi's Epsilon Phi chapter at Penn State University in the Fall of 2022.

During his time at Penn State, Will pursued a major in Enterprise Technology Integration and earned a business competency certificate from the Smeal College of Business. Will completed his undergraduate degree in the Fall of 2025.

Will served as Chancellor of his chapter during the 2024 calendar year, leading the chapter through a period of significant growth and development. In addition to his role as Chancellor, he also held multiple executive board positions, in each one he made sure to be always looking for ways to contribute to the betterment of the fraternity.

Outside of TEΦ, Will co-owns an app development business focusing on college students as its audience. His business includes an event creation platform, a bar special finder, and an AI-powered notetaking tool. He continues to develop apps with the goal of publishing and launching his projects for all to use.

Will was appointed Chapter Development Coordinator on January 5, 2026. In this role, he is excited to use his experience to support chapter expansion efforts and contribute to the continued growth of TEΦ's national organization.
